13th feb:
It was an extremely boring day at home.Time just tickle by,doing the chores that never seemed to end.
14th feb:
Went out with four frens to watxh jumper,window shopping.We intended to go to the River Hongbao but couldn't find it.So we ended up shopping at Marina Centre.Walked quite alot and my legs didn't feel any tiredness.Nevertheless,I was terribly tired when i got home.
15th feb:
Initially I intended to go back to band,but it was only for the woodwind section,soI didn't go back. Its has nothing to do with my section.In the end,I ended up looking for job at home via the internet.ROttin at home.sian.chores 2.
16th feb:
AH! The way my brother vacumes the house really amazes me.He can finish vacuming the house in 5 mins! While i take at least 30 mins. He must had done it slip-shot, QC (Qualty Check)-failed.haha.I moped the house.We then went over to 303 for lunch,had minced pork noodle again. Went up to my grandmother's house after lunch. The two goats-me and xinyi were playing like siao.damn high.I get scolded for playing with my 5 yr old cousin.What's this ? !
Some relatives came to our house and sat till almost 2330.wow.Its ok,saturday what.
17th feb:
sun! one week 's gone! Went to various temples to pray.Then went to Changi Village for dinner. The fried wanton is very nice.Love it man!
18th feb:
Went back to band,at last! We got there before 1315,just before practice commences.The guard was like shocked.& of us..LOL.BUT..The instructors were late for half-an-hour,they came in at around 1345. Mr Hoe was never late unless something really cropped up. Feeling not at home,the 7 of us (hui yi,me,huey mei,geraldine,noorima,saliza and jiban) left the band room.The instructors didn't even seemed to know our presence when we stood in the room for like 5 mins or even longer? We ended up looking for teachers and walking around the school.
Before we left the band room,we was our juniors and managed to find out who's the instructor(s). We saw the way our juniors handle the instrument,we screamed.That's horrible. Fancy putting the euphonium on the chair! Someone DROPED the clarinet! Instrument casings all over the place.
Then we found Mdm Faridah,and managed to caught up with her.hee:)
Yesterday was miss toh's birthday,we intended to calebrate with her.Too bad that she wasn't in school.
We strolled back to the corridor outside the band room. We felt like crying.
1.Their tuning was toatally out. Its dead obvius.As long as one person's note is sharp and the other person's note was flat,an unpleasant sound could be heard.We could hardly hear the flute.
2.my section's sec 2 n 3 taught the sec 1 to play various instrument.But It somehow were showing me that they hardly teach or emphasise the basics.OMG! FAncy playing the snare drum without the snare being turned on! And the sec 1 was playing the other instruments the wrong way.
3.The new comers were playing,but we could tell its a lazy sound ,lazy strokes.We dunno what we should say. GEk SIM arhx!
we then entered the band room and straight into the band store,playing our own instrument.We ignored the instructor,teacher-in-charge. I'm glad that my strokes are still there.hee:) Then sec 2 junior asked me: Why didn't you teach the sec 1? me:I had been teaching for the past few batches,the teaching should be done by the current sec 2 and 3s seniors. I'm not obliged to do so. I don't wanna teach all over again. I'm sick and tired of it.
Then me,hui yi,jiban and andre went to hougang mall after that.
My thoughts:
Change of principal.We wondered will it be good or bad.School's discipline and academia were dropping rather drastically over the years. If nothing was improved,the principal can jolly well go home.Thats a fact.
We band members were terribly upset and unhappy with ths school's decision.
In the past:
Mr Hoe spent lots of time and effort to completely change our playing techniques as they were totally wrong and we managed to get a bronze for our first syf central judjing. then he did alot to improve on our sound.we still got a bronze last year.The school put the blae on him and on US.But they never saw the hardwork we put in.Many of us cried when the competition results were announced.Our confidence and emotion were totally down.Among the CCAs in the school,we were one of those which practised the most hard.
Ask yourself this: Who stayed back in school to practise almost everyday,worst till 6plus at times? We are the ones.Who came back on saturday to practise? We are the ones. We often had to struggle and try to obtain a balance between cca and studies.Most of our grades are rather above normal in the sch cohort.We do have a certain degree of discipline. Speaking of ignite,mr hoe and ms ng went through great trouble to make sure that our performance was a success.They even came up with money out of their pocket for the props for the percussion ensemble.
The school doesn't seemed to appreciate this.Throughout the year, we were asked to perform in school events or even public events,but often at the very last minute. The school should not blame us for getting a bronze last year.They also have to be responsible for it.We were the smallest group in the competition last year,a strenghth of 30 plus.Others were at least 50 to 80 or even 90 strong. So each of us had to fight with 2 person on average.Other schools have a couple of players for each part,but we only have one player for each part.As for we percussionists,we had to handle 17 parts.But we only have 5.So on average,each of us have to play 3 parts.Some played 6 or 7 parts.Whle other schools,each percussionist at most have 2 parts.See the difference ? ! The judges coments even mentinoed taht we are a band of potential.Another gave us high marks which was equivalent to a gold medal.
So why do we have such a small strength? Cos the school always give the most people to other CCAs,leaving those who are neither talented in sports or wanting to go to uniform groups to the band-the last of the crop.We requested the school to increase spendings on the band in the past to hire a few more tutors,but they won't even bother to spent a cent more. Mr Hoe had to fork out his money to get us some tutors for a couple of days.
Then now they sacked mr hoe and spent a huge bomb to employ 9 tutors (instuctors) for the band. Isn't that a huge contradiction? Its probably an insulting one indeed. Even in the school community,we were not being respected at all.While in other schools,band is the biggest CCA and most respected. The treatment we got,only we knew it ourselves.What's the point of giving feedback and complaining when we knew that it wouldn't work?
Perhaps lady luck wasn't on our side.Whether the 9 instructors are capable or not,all of us seniors are waiting to see at july,the school public concert.Time shall speak for itself.
Juniors were telling me that Mrs Xavier told them that teachers were saying that the band's dicipline had gone down.Discipline was terrible.A big number of late comers.A big number of students in inproper attire.MRs Xavier did scold but its useless.The truth behind it-the way mrs xavier do things had never managed or hardly gain her our respect,even from many of us who graduated last year.We all knew and probably saw this day.The other teacher-in-charge we hardly know them and they being similar to the instructors,never seemed to appreciate or even aware of our presence.The heart is willing,but the flesh is weak.This describes how I am feeling now.I dunno how to help them.

Posting results are out.Gui Fang received the results at 6am this moring.Thats indeed early. I got into SP Biomedical Science,my first choice.That's all for today.
